AMENDMENT TO HOUSE RESOLUTION 1188

2     AMENDMENT NO. ___. Amend House Resolution 1188 by replacing
3 everything after the heading with the following:
 
4     "WHEREAS, Members of the House of Representatives are aware
5 of the illegal sale of false forms of identification, such as
6 fraudulent driver's licenses, green cards, State
7 identification cards, social security cards, and matricula
8 cards; and
 
9     WHEREAS, These illegal sales cause major problems for
10 businesses in this State, as well as for federal, State, and
11 local governmental agencies; therefore, be it
 
12     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14 the False Identification Task Force is created, to consist of
15 10 members appointed as follows: one member of the House of
16 Representatives, to serve as chairperson, appointed by the
17 Speaker of the House of Representatives; one member of the
18 House of Representatives appointed by the House Minority
19 leader; and 8 additional members, of whom one member is to be
20 appointed by each of the following officials: the Governor; the
21 Secretary of State; the Attorney General; the State's Attorney
22 of Cook County; the Director of the U.S. Office of Citizenship
23 and Immigration Services; the U.S. Secretary of Homeland

1 Security; the Commissioner of the Chicago Police Department;
2 and the Director of the Illinois State Police; and be it
3 further
 
4     RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall study the problem of
5 the illegal sale of false forms of identification and shall
6 determine the most effective methods for combating these
7 illegal sales; and be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That the Illinois State Police shall provide
9 staff and administrative support services to the Task Force;
10 and be it further
 
11     RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall report its findings and
12 recommendations to the House of Representatives no later than
13 December 31, 2006; and be it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be delivered to
15 the following officials: the Governor; the Secretary of State;
16 the Attorney General; the State's Attorney of Cook County; the
17 Director of the U.S. Office of Citizenship and Immigration
18 Services; the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security; the
19 Commissioner of the Chicago Police Department; and the Director
20 of the Illinois State Police.".
