| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of James E. | 4 |
| Cook of Chicago, Illinois; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, James Edward Cook was born on March 1, 1965 in | 6 |
| Forkland, Alabama; his parents were Casserie Cook and Preston | 7 |
| Joe Wiggins; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, James Cook attended and graduated from Dunbar | 9 |
| Vocational High School in Chicago; he completed his college | 10 |
| education from East-West University in Chicago and Florida | 11 |
| Memorial College in Miami, Florida; he majored in Accounting | 12 |
| and Business Management at both institutions; he was a | 13 |
| Certified Assisted Housing Manager, a Certified Manager of | 14 |
| Housing, a Certified Manager of Occupancy, a Public Housing | 15 |
| Manager, and a Tax Credit Specialist; he was a licensed Notary | 16 |
| Public in the State of Georgia, and was Tax Credit Certified in | 17 |
| the State of Georgia; and
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, James Cook was employed with Triangle Associates | 19 |
| Lake Park Place from 1991 to 1994; from 1995 to 1997 he was | 20 |
| employed as Director of Operations with the Pinnacle Realty | 21 |
| Management Company in Bethesda, Maryland; from 1997 to 2000 he | 22 |
| was employed as Director of Operations with the Housing | 23 |
| Authority in the City of Camden, New Jersey; he was employed as | 24 |
| Property Supervisor with H.J. Russell and Company in Chicago, | 25 |
| Illinois from 2000 to 2001; and he was the Property Manager of | 26 |
| the Brittany Apartments in Chicago, Illinois from 2002 to 2003; | 27 |
| and
| 28 |
| WHEREAS, James Cook was a lifetime member of the Antioch | 29 |
| Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, under the leadership of | 30 |
| the late Pastor Doctor Wilbur Mason Daniel and current Pastor | 31 |
| Gerald Dew; and |

| WHEREAS, James Cook is survived by his father, Preston Joe | 2 |
| Wiggins; his brothers, Joe N. Cook (Wanda) of St. Paul, | 3 |
| Minnesota, Tommy L. (Joyce) Cook of Chicago, Jerome A. (Jenell) | 4 |
| Cook of Chicago, and Preston Cook, Jr., of Zion; his sisters, | 5 |
| Barbara J. (Joseph) Wright of Chicago, Gracie Cook, Joeann | 6 |
| Cook, Ruby Cook, Lovetta Cook, Matti Cook, and Gladys Cook, all | 7 |
| of Zion; his aunts, Olivia Hall and Ernestine Cook; his nieces, | 8 |
| nephews, cousins, and friends; and his God-sent best friend, | 9 |
| Carlos D. Estes; he was preceded in death by his mother, | 10 |
| Casserie Cook, and his brother, Johnnie Willie Cook; therefore, | 11 |
| be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 13 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 14 |
| we mourn, along with his family and friends, the death of James | 15 |
| E. Cook; and be it further
| 16 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 17 |
| presented to the family of James E. Cook.
