AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2569

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2569 by replacing lines 4 through 32 on page 1 and lines 1 through 10 on page 2 with the following:

"Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding Section 3-5046 as follows:

(55 ILCS 5/3-5046 new)

Sec. 3-5046. Deed notification. Upon the recording or filing of a deed on any property within a county with a population of 3,000,000 or more, the Recorder of Deeds must mail a notification postcard to the previous owner of record at the address listed on the property record in the Recorder's Office.

The post card must state that a newly recorded deed has been filed on the property, and must state the date of the new recording, the address of the Recorder's Office, and any other information deemed necessary by the Recorder.
