| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois | 3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Anthony W. "Tony" Dyhrkopp | 4 |
| of Gold Hill Ranch, Shawneetown, on April 10, 2005; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Dyhrkopp was born September 17, 1947, in | 6 |
| Evansville, Indiana, the son of Einar and Frances (Sanders) | 7 |
| Dyhrkopp of Shawneetown; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, He graduated from Shawneetown High School in 1965 | 9 |
| and received his Juris Doctorate degree from North Carolina in | 10 |
| 1974; he also studied at Chicago Kent College of Law, Parson | 11 |
| College, and enrolled in a European study program with the | 12 |
| International College of Copenhagen, Denmark, spending | 13 |
| considerable time in Russia, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Romania, | 14 |
| Hungary, East and West Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and | 15 |
| Spain; and
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, He served as Gallatin County State's Attorney for | 17 |
| 16 years, Assistant Illinois Attorney General for six years, | 18 |
| and Hearing Officer for Secretary of State Jessie White for six | 19 |
| years; and
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of First Baptist Church in | 21 |
| Shawneetown; he was vice-president of Tecumseh International, | 22 |
| an alumni of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, a member of the | 23 |
| Equality Masonic Lodge 2, and a lifelong Democrat; and
| 24 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his grandmother, | 25 |
| Myrtle Schwander and his great-grandfather, Guy R. Lambert; his | 26 |
| grandmother Vevith (Denton) Dyhrkopp; his grandfather, Victor | 27 |
| Dyhrkopp; his great-grandmother, Sarah H. Denton; and his | 28 |
| great-uncle, Col. Samuel A. Denton, and his wife, Ethel; and
| 29 |
| WHEREAS, A loving husband, father, son, and friend, the |

| and loved him, especially his wife of 28 years, Ellen (Lambert) | 3 |
| Dyhrkopp; his sons, Douglas Einar Dyhrkopp and Aaron Joseph | 4 |
| Dyhrkopp; his daughter, Kara Ruth Dyhrkopp; his parents, Einar | 5 |
| and Frances Dyhrkopp; his father and mother-in-law, Douglas and | 6 |
| Marchetta Lambert; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and | 7 |
| Cindy Hughes, Duane and Suzette Lambert, and Paul and Patti | 8 |
| Lambert; his nieces, Andrea (Mike) Phalin and Brette Lambert; | 9 |
| his nephew, Jordan Lambert; his great-nephews, Connor and | 10 |
| Cooper Phalin; his uncle, Felix and Pam Dyhrkopp; his aunts, | 11 |
| Victoria Vaughn, Louise (Sanders) Strong, and Hilda (Moye) | 12 |
| Sanders; his special cousins, Billy Earl and Sharon Sanders and | 13 |
| their son, Billy John, and Mark and Debbie Sanders and their | 14 |
| children, Heather, Megan, and Jessica; therefore, be it
| 15 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL | 16 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 17 |
| Anthony W. "Tony" Dyhrkopp and extend our sincere and heartfelt | 18 |
| condolences to his family, friends, and community; and be it | 19 |
| further
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 21 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest | 22 |
| sympathy.
