| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois | 3 |
| wish to express their sincere condolences to the family and | 4 |
| friends of Michael Jacobson of Batavia, who passed away on | 5 |
| February 19, 2006; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Michael was the second son of Rudy and Lisa | 7 |
| Jacobson of Batavia; his family immigrated to America in 1951 | 8 |
| from Freisig, Germany; in America, the family was able to start | 9 |
| a new life and prosper in this great land of freedom and | 10 |
| opportunity; and
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Jacobson wore many hats in the community; he | 12 |
| was an owner of EMMtek, Inc., a computer-service firm in | 13 |
| downtown Batavia that was co-founded in 2001 by Michael, his | 14 |
| sister, Marion, and her husband, Ed Hodges; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Jacobson was active in the chambers of | 16 |
| commerce in three cities: St. Charles, Aurora, and Batavia, | 17 |
| where he was President-elect; he was a member of the Bridge | 18 |
| Task Force; as the father of a deaf child, he was dedicated to | 19 |
| bringing much needed attention to the needs of deaf children; | 20 |
| and
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Jacobson was an avid fisherman and loved the | 22 |
| outdoors; he was most happy when he had a line in the water at | 23 |
| his favorite fishing spot in Rhinelander, Wisconsin; and
| 24 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Michael Jacobson has been deeply | 25 |
| felt by many, especially his wife of 40 years, Margaret | 26 |
| "Peggy"; his children, Michael, Beth, and Brian; his | 27 |
| daughter-in-law, Lisa; his son-in-law, Jerry; and his nine | 28 |
| grandchildren; his parents preceded him in death; therefore, be | 29 |
| it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL | 2 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that that we mourn the | 3 |
| passing of Michael Jacobson, and we extend our sincere | 4 |
| condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 5 |
| him; and be it further
| 6 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 7 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest | 8 |
| sympathy.
