AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 161

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 161, AS AMENDED, in
3 Section 5, the introductory clause, by replacing "Sections
4 3-664 and 3-665" with "Sections 3-664, 3-665, and 3-666"; and
 
5 in Section 5, immediately below the last line of Sec. 3-665, by
6 inserting the following:
 
7     "(625 ILCS 5/3-666 new)
8     Sec. 3-666. Paratrooper license plates.
9     (a) In addition to any other special license plate, the
10 Secretary, upon receipt of all applicable fees and applications
11 made in the form prescribed by the Secretary of State, may
12 issue Paratrooper license plates to residents of Illinois who
13 meet eligibility requirements prescribed by the Secretary of
14 State. The special Paratrooper plate issued under this Section
15 shall be affixed only to passenger vehicles of the first
16 division and motor vehicles of the second division weighing not

1 more than 8,000 pounds. Plates issued under this Section shall
2 expire according to the staggered multi-year procedure
3 established by Section 3-414.1 of this Code.
4     (b) The design, color, and format of the plates shall be
5 wholly within the discretion of the Secretary of State. The
6 Secretary may, in his or her discretion, allow the plates to be
7 issued as vanity or personalized plates in accordance with
8 Section 3-405.1 of this Code. The plates are not required to
9 designate "Land Of Lincoln", as prescribed in subsection (b) of
10 Section 3-412 of this Code. The Secretary shall prescribe the
11 eligibility requirements and, in his or her discretion, shall
12 approve and prescribe stickers or decals as provided under
13 Section 3-412.
14     (c) An applicant shall be charged a $15 fee for original
15 issuance in addition to the applicable registration fee. This
16 additional fee shall be deposited into the Secretary of State
17 Special License Plate Fund.".
