AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1118

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1118 as follows:

on page 2, immediately below line 23, by inserting the following:

"(e) An employee or contractual employee of the Department of Children and Family Services may not serve on the Board."; and

on page 3, line 21, after "Act.", by inserting "The Board also has the power to make recommendations to the Director of Children and Family Services with respect to overturning or altering the findings of any investigation that is conducted under Section 21 of the Children and Family Services Act."; and

on page 6, immediately below line 23, by inserting the following:

"(d) The recommendations of the Board and any evidence examined by the Board may be used by a respondent as part of a defense in any child abuse or neglect proceeding.".
