AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1460

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1460, AS AMENDED, by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Section 5. The Government Buildings Energy Cost Reduction Act of 1991 is amended by adding Section 25 as follows:

(20 ILCS 3953/25 new)

Sec. 25. Fluorescent lighting in State buildings. In order to reduce energy consumption, all buildings owned or operated by the State shall, where economically feasible, use fluorescent, rather than incandescent, light bulbs by January 1, 2011. Historic buildings that are listed on the Illinois Register of Historic Places, established pursuant to Section 6 of the Illinois Historic Preservation Act, are exempt from the requirements of this Section.".
