| AN ACT concerning regulation.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Child Care Act of 1969 is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 4.4 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (225 ILCS 10/4.4) (from Ch. 23, par. 2214.4)

| Sec. 4.4. For the
the purposes of background investigations |
| 8 |
| authorized in
this Act, "license applicant" means the operator |
| 9 |
| or person with direct
responsibility for daily operation of the |
| 10 |
| facility to be licensed. In the
case of facilities to be |
| 11 |
| operated in a family home, the Department may, by
rule, require |
| 12 |
| that other adult residents of that home also authorize such
|
| 13 |
| investigations. |
