    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Local Records Act is amended by changing

Section 5 as follows:

    Sec. 5. The
The Archivist shall be local records advisor

and shall appoint such
assistants as necessary to assist local

governments in carrying out the
purposes of this Act.
