AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5059

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5059 on page 11,
3 immediately below line 14, by inserting the following:
 
4     "Section 7. The Academic Degree Act is amended by changing
5 Section 11 as follows:
 
6     (110 ILCS 1010/11)  (from Ch. 144, par. 241)
7     Sec. 11. Exemptions. This Act shall not apply to any school
8 or educational institution regulated or approved under the
9 Nurse Practice Act. This Act shall not apply to any of the
10 following:
11     (a) in-training programs by corporations or other business
12 organizations for the training of their personnel;
13     (b) education or other improvement programs by business,
14 trade and similar organizations and associations for the
15 benefit of their members only; or
16     (c) apprentice or other training programs by labor unions.

2 on page 13, immediately below line 3, by inserting the
3 following:
4         "(4.5) For the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2008 and
5     for each fiscal year thereafter, $1,000,000 of the moneys
6     deposited in the Nursing Dedicated and Professional Fund
7     each year shall be set aside and appropriated to the Board
8     of Higher Education for competitive grants to nursing
9     schools authorized under Section 9.31 of the Board of
10     Higher Education Act."; and
 
11 on page 13, line 8, after "aside" by inserting "for the Board
12 of Higher Education Act and"; and
 
13 on page 13, line 9, by replacing "Law" with "Law,"; and
 
14 on page 13, line 10, by replacing "item (iv) of subsection (e)
15 of this Section" with "items (4) and (4.5) of subsection (b) of
16 this Section, item (iv) of subsection (e) of this Section".
