| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Doris | 4 |
| Sasser of Park Ridge, who passed away on February 6, 2007; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Doris Sasser, nee Doris Louise Hollerbach, was | 6 |
| born on December 25, 1920 in Chicago; her parents were the late | 7 |
| Emily and Fred Hollerbach; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, She attended high school in Chicago and continued | 9 |
| her studies at North Park College; and
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Doris and Robert M. Sasser were married in 1946; | 11 |
| and together they raised three children, Susan, Fred, and John; | 12 |
| and
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Sasser was the president of Chicago Freight | 14 |
| Car Leasing and his wife assisted him in the company; they | 15 |
| traveled extensively together, visiting Africa, China, and | 16 |
| Russia, and explored the United States in their camper; | 17 |
| together they were adventurous, eager to learn new things, and | 18 |
| enjoyed making new friends; and
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Together with her husband, Doris Sasser supported | 20 |
| organizations such as Avenues To Independence, Rainbow |

| Hospice, Chicago Public Radio, Lutheran General Hospital, and | 2 |
| others; Mrs. Sasser and her family have been nominated to | 3 |
| receive the 2007 Distinguished Philanthropist Award from the | 4 |
| Association of Fundraising Professionals, Chicago Chapter; and | 5 |
| WHEREAS, Doris Sasser was a loving mother, wife, | 6 |
| grandmother, and great-grandmother; she is survived by her | 7 |
| three children and their spouses; her five grandchildren; her | 8 |
| three great-grandchildren; and her many good friends; | 9 |
| therefore, be it
| 10 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 11 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 12 |
| mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Doris | 13 |
| Sasser; and be it further
| 14 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 |
| presented to the family of Doris Sasser as a symbol of our | 16 |
| sympathy.
