| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the | 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to congratulate the Lincoln Trail | 4 |
| College Lady Statesmen for winning the NJCAA Region 24 Softball | 5 |
| Tournament on May 5 and 6, 2007; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The Lady Statesmen won three of four games over | 7 |
| the weekend of May 5 and 6 in Robinson to capture the title, | 8 |
| ending with a 28-18 record; Lincoln Trail College opened play | 9 |
| with a 5-4 win over Wabash Valley, followed by a 7-5 win over | 10 |
| Lake Land; on May 6, LTC lost to Rend Lake 6-5, but rebounded | 11 |
| to beat Rend Lake 6-1 in the second game to capture the title; | 12 |
| and
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Ashley Gordon, a Hutsonville High School | 14 |
| graduate, smacked her third home run of the weekend for the | 15 |
| Lady Statesmen and was named tournament MVP; head coach Shannon | 16 |
| Emmons was also named Coach of the Year after the tournament; | 17 |
| and

| WHEREAS, The Lincoln Trail College Lady Statesmen are | 19 |

| and the assistant coach is Carmen Montgomery; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 3 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 4 |
| congratulate the Lincoln Trail College Lady Statesmen for | 5 |
| winning the NJCAA Region 24 Softball Tournament and wish the | 6 |
| players and coaches continued success and happiness in the | 7 |
| future; and be it further

| RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | 9 |
| presented to head coach Shannon Emmons,
assistant coach Carmen | 10 |
| Montgomery, and the Lady Statesmen players as a symbol of our | 11 |
| esteem and respect.
