HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate Captain Jim Albritton of
4 the Joliet Police Department as he retires on January 21, 2008;
5 and
 
6     WHEREAS, Jim Albritton has served with the Joliet Police
7 Department since 1973; he was promoted to Captain in 1998;
8 promoted to Lieutenant in 1994; promoted to Sergeant in 1983;
9 promoted to Master Police Officer in 1978; and appointed Patrol
10 Officer in 1973; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He first served with the Patrol Division as a
12 Patrol Officer from 1973 to 1978; from 1978 to 1983 he served
13 as a Detective with the Investigation Division; and from 1983
14 to 1987 he served as Patrol Sergeant with the Patrol Division;
15 and
 
16     WHEREAS, Jim Albritton became Communication Supervisor
17 with the Auxiliary Services Division and served from 1987 to
18 1994; from 1994 to 1998 he served as Internal Affairs
19 Lieutenant with the Administrative Division; from 1998 to 2000
20 he served as Support Services Commander; and from 2000 to the
21 present day he has served as Special Services Captain in
22 Operations; and

1     WHEREAS, He has received four Medals of Merit, one Purple
2 Heart Medal, five Life Saving Medals, three Heroism Medals, two
3 Supervisor of the Month acknowledgements, and the Police
4 Officer of the Year Award and Medal in 1982; in addition, he
5 has received many commendations and other recognition for his
6 work; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Jim Albritton was born in Peoria in 1951; he has
8 two children, Kendra (Eric) Overstreet and Devyn Albritton;
9 therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
12 congratulate Jim Albritton on his retirement and wish him the
13 best in his future endeavors; and be it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to Jim Albritton as a symbol of our respect and
16 esteem.
