AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2674

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2674 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4     "Section 5. The Park Commissioners Land Sale Act is amended
5 by adding Section 5 as follows:
 
6     (70 ILCS 1235/5 new)
7     Sec. 5. Sale of golf course land.
8     (a) Any board of park commissioners having the control or
9 supervision of any parcel of land that is used for golf course
10 purposes or parcel of land that is adjacent to such land used
11 for golf course purposes or separated from it by a river in a
12 non-home rule county with a population greater than 500,000 but
13 less than 1,000,000, and having any piece or parcel of that
14 land not exceeding 8 acres in area that is no longer needed or
15 deemed necessary or useful for the purpose of that golf course,
16 may apply to the circuit court of the county in which the piece

1 or parcel of land is situated by petition in writing for leave
2 to sell that parcel. Notice of such application shall be given
3 by the board of park commissioners in some newspaper published
4 in the county at least 10 days before the day named therein
5 stating when the application will be made. All persons
6 interested may appear before the circuit court either in person
7 or by attorney when the application is made and object to the
8 granting of the application. After hearing all persons
9 interested, if the court deems the granting of the application
10 to be for the public interest, it shall direct that the
11 property mentioned in the application, or any part thereof, be
12 sold and conveyed by the board of park commissioners upon such
13 terms and conditions as the court may think proper.
14     (b) This Section is repealed on December 31, 2013.
 
15     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
16 becoming law.".
