1     AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5 Federal Stimulus Tracking Act.
 
6     Section 5. Federal stimulus tracking.
7     (a) The Governor's Office, or a designated State agency,
8 shall track and report by means of a monthly report the State's
9 spending of the federal stimulus moneys provided pursuant to
10 the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
11     (b) Each monthly report shall list the amount of the
12 State's federal stimulus spending, by category, based on
13 available federal and State data. The reports may also list any
14 required matching funds required by the State to be eligible
15 for federal stimulus funding. The reports may make
16 recommendations (i) concerning ways for Illinois to maximize
17 its share of federal stimulus spending or (ii) suggesting
18 changes to Illinois law that could help to maximize its share
19 of federal stimulus spending. A final report compiling data
20 from the monthly reports shall be available online at the
21 conclusion of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
22 program or by December 31, 2014, whichever occurs first.
23     (c) The reports shall be available on a State of Illinois

1 website and filed with the Speaker and Minority Leader of the
2 House and the President and Minority Leader of the Senate.
3     (d) The General Assembly may by resolution request that
4 specific data, findings, or analyses be included in a monthly
5 report. The Commission on Government Forecasting and
6 Accountability shall provide the Governor's Office technical,
7 analytical, and substantive assistance in preparing the
8 requested data, findings, or analyses.
9     (e) This Act is repealed on January 1, 2015.
 
10     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
11 becoming law.
