AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 682

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 682 on page 1, by
3 replacing lines 19 through 23 with the following:
4 "activities by a criminal street gang, or, when necessary for
5 the discharge of its official duties in connection with a
6 particular investigation of the conduct of a law enforcement
7 officer, an independent agency or its staff created by
8 ordinance and charged by a unit of local government with the
9 duty of investigating the conduct of law enforcement officers.
10 For purposes of this Section, "criminal street"; and
 
11 on page 5, by replacing line 16 with the following:
12     "(C) The records of law enforcement officers, or of an
13 independent agency created by ordinance and charged by a unit
14 of local government with the duty of investigating the conduct
15 of law enforcement officers, concerning all"; and
 
16 on page 6, by replacing line 2 with the following:

1         "(1) In cases where the law enforcement, or independent
2     agency, records concern"; and
 
3 on page 7, by replacing line 5 with the following:
4     "(E) Law enforcement officers, and personnel of an
5 independent agency created by ordinance and charged by a unit
6 of local government with the duty of investigating the conduct
7 of law enforcement officers, may not disclose the identity";
8 and
 
9 on page 8, by replacing lines 13 though 15 with the following:
10 "prosecutors or their staff, or, when necessary for the
11 discharge of its official duties in connection with a
12 particular investigation of the conduct of a law enforcement
13 officer, an independent agency or its staff created by
14 ordinance and charged by a unit of local government with the
15 duty of investigating the conduct of law enforcement
16 officers;"; and
 
17 on page 10, by replacing line 9 with the following:
18     "(5) The records of law enforcement officers, or of an
19 independent agency created by ordinance and charged by a unit
20 of local government with the duty of investigating the conduct
21 of law enforcement officers, concerning all"; and
 
22 on page 10, by replacing line 19 with the following:
