SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
40 ILCS 5/9-180   from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 9-180
40 ILCS 5/9-181   from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 9-181

    Amends the Cook County Article of the Illinois Pension Code. In provisions concerning contributions by the county for duty disability benefits and ordinary disability benefits, provides that the Board shall certify to the County Treasurer the amounts to be contributed or estimated to be contributed in each county fiscal year by November 1 of each year. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning public employee benefits.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Illinois Pension Code is amended by changing
5 Sections 9-180 and 9-181 as follows:
 
6     (40 ILCS 5/9-180)  (from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 9-180)
7     Sec. 9-180. Contributions by county for duty disability
8 benefit. In lieu of all amounts ordinarily contributed by an
9 employee and by the county for age and service annuity, and
10 widow's annuity the county shall contribute sums equal to such
11 amounts for any period during which the employee receives duty
12 disability benefit to be credited to the disabled employee for
13 annuity purposes as though he were in active discharge of his
14 duties during any such period of disability. The Board shall
15 certify to the County Treasurer the amounts to be contributed
16 or estimated to be contributed in each county fiscal year by
17 November 1 of each year.
