| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Edward H. | 4 |
| Fauth of Aurora, who passed away on October 3, 2009; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born in Aurora on October 22, 1922, the son | 6 |
| of Edward H. and Martha J. (Westphal) Fauth; after graduating | 7 |
| from East High School of Aurora, Ed began working for | 8 |
| Barber-Greene Company; he served with the 477th Railroad | 9 |
| Battalion of the United States Army in World War II, which was | 10 |
| involved in the Battle of the Bulge; and
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, He returned to Barber-Greene after the war and | 12 |
| stayed with the company for 31 years; during this time he | 13 |
| completed his education in mechanical engineering with degrees | 14 |
| from Michigan State University (B.S.) and the Illinois | 15 |
| Institute of Technology (M.S.); he then became Dean of | 16 |
| Community Services with Waubonsee Community College where he | 17 |
| worked until his retirement in 1987; during his tenure there he | 18 |
| completed an advanced degree in higher education from Nova | 19 |
| University (Ed.D.); and
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, In addition to his employment Ed was very active | 21 |
| in multiple community organizations, including the East Aurora | 22 |
| District 131 School Board, Aurora YMCA, Aurora Economic |

| Development Commission, Aurora Urban League, Aurora Home Rule | 2 |
| and Revenue Sharing Committee, Aurora Labor-Management | 3 |
| Committee, Kane Kendall County Mental Health Center, Kane | 4 |
| County Community Action Agency, United Way, and the Rotary | 5 |
| International Club of Aurora; he was the first District | 6 |
| Governor of Rotary from the Aurora Noon Rotary Club; he also | 7 |
| was active in the local and national societies of Professional | 8 |
| Engineers; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his | 10 |
| brothers, Ralph (Doris) and Robert (Naomi); and his sister, | 11 |
| Dorothy; and
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Edward Fauth is survived by his wife of 63 years, | 13 |
| Frances, nee Miller; his brothers, Carl (Dorothy) and William | 14 |
| (JoAnn); his sister, Marion (Roland) Bolly; his children, Dr. | 15 |
| Gregory (Geralyn) Fauth, Mary (Gregory) Kushner, Dr. Linda | 16 |
| (Jeffrey) Sanborn, and Anne (Peter) Sparling; his 15 | 17 |
| grandchildren, Wade, Riley, and McKenzie Fauth, Nicole (Paul) | 18 |
| Plzak, Jill, and Laura Doran, Katie (Tony) Hernandez, Adam | 19 |
| (Yoko), and Charles Kushner, Casey, Blake, and Peter Sanborn, | 20 |
| and Jaime, Megan, and Sam Sparling, and Jose Daniel Nasta, a | 21 |
| Paraguayan exchange student member of the family and his | 22 |
| children, Rodrigo, Martin, and Maria; therefore, be it
| 23 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 2 |
| mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Edward | 3 |
| Fauth; and be it further
| 4 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 5 |
| presented to the family of Edward Fauth as a symbol of our | 6 |
| sincere sympathy.
