| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of
Annalicia Davis-Johnson of Chicago, who | 4 |
| passed away on September 30, 2008; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Annalicia Davis-Johnson was born on June 16, 1964 | 6 |
| in Chicago; her parents were James and Annabell Davis; and
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Annalicia Davis-Johnson was baptized at an early | 8 |
| age at the Hopeful Missionary Baptist Church; she later joined | 9 |
| the First Church of Deliverance, where she served faithfully | 10 |
| until her passing; she loved to sing and participated on | 11 |
| various committees and programs in the church, being most proud | 12 |
| of singing in the choir; she was well known as the "diva" at | 13 |
| her church; and
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, Annalicia Davis-Johnson received her education | 15 |
| through the Chicago Public School system, attending John Hope | 16 |
| Elementary School and graduating from Tilden High School; she | 17 |
| went on to complete her undergraduate studies at Robert Morris | 18 |
| College, receiving her Bachelor of Business Administration | 19 |
| degree with high scholastic honors, graduating Summa Cum Laude | 20 |
| in 2005; she was also a member of Sigma Beta Delta; after | 21 |
| receiving her B.B.A., she continued her graduate studies at | 22 |
| Robert Morris, receiving her Masters of Business |

| Administration degree in 2007; and
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Annalicia Davis-Johnson worked for the Loyola | 3 |
| University Medical Center as an Accounting Supervisor/Auditor | 4 |
| and later for the Chicago Housing Authority as a Project | 5 |
| Coordinator; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Annalicia Davis-Johnson was preceded in death by | 7 |
| her mother and her brother, Johnnie Lee Brown; and | 8 |
| WHEREAS, Annalicia Davis-Johnson is survived by her | 9 |
| beloved father, James Davis (Catherine); her sisters, Sonya | 10 |
| Franklin (Kenneth), Rosie McSwain, and Jeanette Hall; her great | 11 |
| aunt and uncle, Eliza and Louis Harding; her aunts, Sandra | 12 |
| Simpson, Denise Davenport, Brenda Johnson, Frances Mae Davis, | 13 |
| Eola Mayfield, and Estelle Williams; her uncles, Spergeon | 14 |
| Mitchell, Roosevelt Simpson, and Thomas Davis; her nephews, | 15 |
| Craig, Charles, Pierre, and Kendall; and her special adopted | 16 |
| grandmother; and
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Annalicia Davis-Johnson will be remembered by all | 18 |
| who knew and loved her as a strong willed, determined, and | 19 |
| courageous individual who didn't let anything get in her way to | 20 |
| slow her down until she completed what she set out to do; | 21 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | 2 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 3 |
| her family and friends, the passing of Annalicia Davis-Johnson; | 4 |
| and be it further
| 5 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 6 |
| presented to the family of Annalicia Davis-Johnson as an | 7 |
| expression of our sympathy.
