| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 |
| learn of the death of
James R. Enlow of Springfield, who passed | 4 |
| away on July 18, 2009; and
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, James Enlow was born on February 11, 1937 in | 6 |
| Springfield; he was the son of John F. and Janet Guymon Enlow; | 7 |
| he married his high school sweetheart, Carole Decatoire, on | 8 |
| January 12, 1957 in Springfield; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, James Enlow was a graduate of Lanphier High School | 10 |
| and Springfield Junior College; his family owned and operated | 11 |
| Springfield-Decatur Transfer from 1945 to 1982, when it was | 12 |
| purchased by Rudolf Express; he served as the regional manager | 13 |
| of the business until his retirement in 1999; following his | 14 |
| retirement, he went to work for Morgan Express as a salesman; | 15 |
| and
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, James Enlow was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic | 17 |
| Church; he was passionately involved in the Knights of | 18 |
| Columbus, achieving the 4th Degree and having served as an | 19 |
| honor guard and Past Grand Knight for Council 4179; having been | 20 |
| previously awarded the title of Eagle Scout, he was involved | 21 |
| with the Boy Scouts and Cub Scout Pack 53 at St. Aloysius | 22 |
| Catholic Church; he was also very active with the Lincoln Land |

| Down Syndrome Society and the Special Olympics and was a | 2 |
| sponsor of several Little League teams; and
| 3 |
| WHEREAS, James Enlow enjoyed playing golf and bowling and | 4 |
| was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Fighting | 5 |
| Illini; and | 6 |
| WHEREAS, James Enlow was preceded in death by his father, | 7 |
| John Enlow, and his infant brother; and
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, James Enlow is survived by his wife of fifty-two | 9 |
| years, Carole Enlow; his sons, John (wife, Connie) Enlow, Jim | 10 |
| (wife, Maria) Enlow, and Jeff (wife, Nancy) Enlow; his | 11 |
| daughters, Jeanne (husband, David) Urbanek, Jackie (husband, | 12 |
| Jim) Peters, and Julie (husband, Randy) Ressler; his | 13 |
| grandchildren, Courtney, Eric, Anthony, Lucas, Natalie, | 14 |
| Sydney, Haley, Alison, and Michael Enlow, Robert, Chris, and | 15 |
| Aubrey Urbanek, Sarah, Katie, and Lisa Peters, Ryan Sattler, | 16 |
| and Aiden and Lydia Ressler; his mother, Janet Enlow; his many | 17 |
| aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers and | 18 |
| sisters-in-law, and friends; and his faithful dog, Hannah; and
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, James Enlow will be remembered by all who knew and | 20 |
| loved him as an honorable man whose giving nature and deeply | 21 |
| devotion to helping others, especially children, endeared him | 22 |
| to everyone he met; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | 2 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 3 |
| his family and friends, the passing of James R. Enlow; and be | 4 |
| it further
| 5 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 6 |
| presented to the family of James Enlow as an expression of our | 7 |
| sympathy.
