| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Richard "Dick" Hufford of Northport, | 4 | | Michigan, who passed away on May 26, 2010; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Hufford was born April 1, 1927, in | 6 | | Hammond, Indiana, the youngest of four children; he married | 7 | | Bernadette Dermody on January 27, 1951, in All Saints Parish; | 8 | | and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, He served in the United States Army during World | 10 | | War II; after the war, he and his wife settled in Hinsdale for | 11 | | 32 years; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, He worked for General Motors in Willow Springs and | 13 | | in Kalamazoo, Michigan for 37 years; he served as a trustee in | 14 | | the Lighthouse Museum; he was a key organizer of the Annual | 15 | | Woolsey Memorial Airport Pancake Breakfast and Fly-In; he | 16 | | served as an elected Supervisor of Leelanau County; and he was | 17 | | a King Lion and was to be honored on May 26, 2010 with a jacket | 18 | | from the Lion's Club; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, He is remembered for his hot cinnamon rolls, fresh | 20 | | baked lemon meringue pie, and his "Granny Cake"; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Dick was preceded in death by his parents; and his | 2 | | brother, "Bobby" (Dot); and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Richard Hufford is survived by his wife, | 4 | | Bernadette; his children, Jeff (Cathie) Hufford, Craig | 5 | | (Laurie) Hufford, Kim (Bill) Hufford-Murphy, Kevin (Leslie) | 6 | | Hufford, Richard (Meg) Hufford, and Christopher Hufford; his | 7 | | sister, Rita Rosen; and his brother, Alan; his three | 8 | | sisters-in-law, Peg (Bob) Johnson, Sister Michelle Dermody, | 9 | | PHJC, and Dorothy Hufford; he is also survived by his loving 14 | 10 | | grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many nieces and | 11 | | nephews; therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 14 | | his family and friends, the passing of Richard Hufford; and be | 15 | | it further
| 16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 17 | | presented to the family of Richard Hufford as a symbol of our | 18 | | sincere sympathy.
