| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Susan August of Waukegan, who passed away | 4 | | on August 13, 2010; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, She was born September 15, 1937 in Oconomowoc, | 6 | | Wisconsin; she was a member of St. Anastasia Parish and a | 7 | | former member of St. Dismas Parish; she graduated from St. | 8 | | Therese Hospital School of Nursing in Waukegan in 1958, she was | 9 | | a member of St. Therese Alumni Association, the Lake County | 10 | | Nurse's Association, and the Catholic Nurse's Association; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, She was also a volunteer at Kids Corner at the | 12 | | Lake County Court House and a volunteer with S.P.R.E.D., as | 13 | | well as being active in the Boy Scouts; as a Registered Nurse | 14 | | she was active in nursing in the county for many years, and | 15 | | retired from the Veteran's Administration Hospital of North | 16 | | Chicago; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas | 18 | | August in 2002, with whom she was united in marriage in 1960; | 19 | | her parents, George Weege and Gertrude (nee Wagnitz) Weege; and | 20 | | her sister, Dolores; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Susan August is survived by her children, Peter |

| 1 | | (Mary Ellen) August, Katherine August, and Stephen (Carol) | 2 | | August; her grandchildren, Amanda, Kate, Rachel, Grace, | 3 | | Thomas, Maggie, and Daniel August; her numerous nieces and | 4 | | nephews; her caregiver, Donna Poblocka; her siblings, George | 5 | | (Frances) Weege, Edie (Gil) Walter, Judy Robbins, Ernie (Mary) | 6 | | Weege, Sandy (Jim) Pritzlaff, Wayne (Sue) Weege, Sally Clancy, | 7 | | Jim Weege, and Pat (Phyllis) Weege; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 10 | | her family and friends, the passing of Susan August; and be it | 11 | | further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Susan August as a symbol of our | 14 | | sincere sympathy.
