SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

20 ILCS 2405/18 new

Amends the Disabled Persons Rehabilitation Act. Provides that subject to appropriations, the Department shall create a pilot program for adult day services for persons on the autism spectrum over the age of 22. Provides that the Department shall make grants to organizations that develop a replicable model for quality day services for adults with autism living in Illinois. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Disabled Persons Rehabilitation Act is amended by adding Section 18 as follows:

(20 ILCS 2405/18 new)

Sec. 18. Autism; adult day programs. Subject to appropriations, the Department shall create a pilot program for adult day services for persons on the autism spectrum over the age of 22. The Department shall make grants to organizations that develop a replicable model for quality day services for adults with autism living in Illinois.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
