| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are pleased to honor Richard Lee Kraines for | 4 | | his long and distinguished career in medicine; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Kraines was born on March 14, 1939, in | 6 | | Chicago; his parents are Samuel and Ruth Kraines; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Richard Kraines was a graduate of the Lab High | 8 | | School at the University of Chicago; he subsequently earned his | 9 | | bachelor's degree from Oberlin College and his Doctor of | 10 | | Medicine degree from the University of Chicago in 1963; from | 11 | | 1963 to 1964, he participated in a rotating internship at the | 12 | | Illinois Research and Education Hospital; he then performed his | 13 | | residency in internal medicine at Michael Reese Hospital from | 14 | | 1964 to 1966 and his fellowship in hepatology at the New Jersey | 15 | | College of Medicine from 1966 to 1967; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Richard Kraines began his medical career in | 17 | | private practice in Highland Park, serving with Dr. Beryl | 18 | | Lovitz for 7 years; he then entered private practice by | 19 | | himself, serving at Highland Park Hospital for 35 years; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Richard Kraines served his country with pride and | 21 | | distinction as a member of the United States Army from 1967 to |

| 1 | | 1969; he was honorably discharged at the rank of major; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Richard Kraines and his loving wife, Carol | 3 | | Kraines, have 2 sons, Michael (Katherine) and Jeffery (Kelly), | 4 | | and 2 grandchildren, Tyler and Logan; and | 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Kraines serves as a model of hard work, | 6 | | integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of | 7 | | Illinois; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 9 | | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 10 | | we honor Richard Lee Kraines for his long and distinguished | 11 | | career in medicine, thank him for his dedication to his | 12 | | patients, and wish him continued success and happiness in the | 13 | | future; and be it further
