| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 965, AS AMENDED, | 3 | | with reference to page and line numbers of Senate Amendment No. | 4 | | 1, on page 12, line 10, by deleting " or county "; and
| 5 | | on page 18, lines 13 and 14, by replacing " every 60 days " with | 6 | | " each week "; and | 7 | | on page 18, line 15, after " year. ", by inserting the following: | 8 | | " Radar equipment shall be checked for accuracy by a qualified | 9 | | technician when the unit is serviced, when unusual or suspect | 10 | | readings persist, or when deemed necessary by a reviewing | 11 | | technician. Radar equipment shall be checked with certified | 12 | | tuning forks, the internal circuit test, and diode display test | 13 | | whenever the radar is turned on. Technicians must be alert for | 14 | | any unusual or suspect readings, and if unusual or suspect | 15 | | readings of a radar unit persist, that unit shall be | 16 | | immediately be removed from service and not returned to service |

| 1 | | until it has been checked by a qualified technician and | 2 | | determined to be functioning properly. "; and | 3 | | on page 41, by replacing lines 15 through 19 with the | 4 | | following: | 5 | | " mile from the nearest property line of any public or private | 6 | | elementary or secondary school, or from the nearest property | 7 | | line of any facility, area, or land owned by a school district | 8 | | that is used for educational purposes approved by the Illinois | 9 | | State Board of Education, not including school district | 10 | | headquarters or administrative buildings. | 1 | | (ii) if the safety zone is based upon the property line | 2 | | of any facility, area, or land owned by a park district, no | 3 | | earlier than one hour prior to the time that the facility, | 4 | | area, or land is open to the public or other patrons, and | 5 | | no later than one hour after the facility, area, or land is | 6 | | closed to the public or other patrons. "; and | 7 | | on page 42, line 19, after " violation. ", by inserting the | 8 | | following: | 9 | | " No penalty may be imposed under this Section if the recorded | 10 | | speed of a vehicle is 5 miles per hour or less over the legal | 11 | | speed limit. The municipality may send, in the same manner that | 12 | | notices are sent under this Section, a speed violation warning | 13 | | notice where the violation involves a speed of 5 miles per hour | 14 | | or less above the legal speed limit. ".
