SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Howard "Bud" Scott of Fox Lake, who
4passed away on January 14, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was a trustee and former president of the Lake
6Villa Fire Protection District Board and helped preside over
7the construction and 2008 opening of its new substation in
8Lindenhurst; "Bud" was also a former Lake County Board member
9and a former member and chairman of the Fox Waterway Agency
10Board; and
 
11    WHEREAS, He was a not only a student but also a teacher,
12principal, and assistant superintendent at Grant High School in
13Fox Lake; his career at Grant High School spanned 22 years and
14touched thousands of students, faculty, and parents; he was
15more than just the Dean of Students, he was a friend whom
16people respected and relied on for guidance; and
 
17    WHEREAS, He served as a Lake Villa Republican precinct
18committeeman since the 1960s; he served on the Lake County
19Board, he was a two-term director of the Fox Lake Chamber of
20Commerce, he was a Lake Villa Township trustee, and he was a
21member of the Lake County Planning Commission; and

1    WHEREAS, He was a Marine Corps veteran; he was extremely
2proud to have served and continued to support the military
3through his work at the American Legion Post 703; he once
4served as a Fox Lake police officer and Lake County Sheriff's
5Office deputy; and
 
6    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father, Howard E.
7Scott Sr.; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Howard "Bud" Scott is survived by his wife of 52
9years, Roberta Lou Scott; his children, Tom Scott, Kathy Scott,
10and Kristina (Michael) Kazlausky; his grandchildren, Sammy and
11Mick Kazlausky and Garrett Woolford; his mother, Cornelia
12Scott; his brother, Dr. Anthony (Judi) Scott; his sister,
13Meredith (John) Martin; his sisters-in-law, Sue (Roger)
14Tapleshay and Barb (Gary) Humphries; and his many nieces and
15nephews; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
18his family and friends, the passing of Howard "Bud" Scott; and
19be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Howard "Bud" Scott as a symbol of
22our sincere sympathy.
