| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of
Lois Solomon of Wilmette, who passed away | 4 | | on April 25, 2011; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lois Solomon was a Chicago native; she attended | 6 | | the University of Chicago and earned her undergraduate degree | 7 | | and law degree in five years; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, While in law school, Lois Solomon met the love of | 9 | | her life, Arthur Solomon; after the two married, they began | 10 | | their law careers and shared their love of politics, books, and | 11 | | friends; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, In 1972, Lois Solomon and her husband moved with | 13 | | their young children to Wilmette and quickly became involved in | 14 | | local North Shore politics; she was actively involved with the | 15 | | New Trier Democrats; she also served as an election judge and | 16 | | was instrumental in saving Mallinkrodt from development; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, An avid gardener, Lois Solomon enjoyed gardening, | 18 | | painting, her monthly lunches with the Sewing Circle ladies, | 19 | | spending time with her children and grandchildren, and reading; | 20 | | and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Lois Solomon is survived by her son, Adam, and his | 2 | | children, Theodore and Nicholas Solomon; her daughter, | 3 | | Elizabeth Hubbard, her son-in-law, Jeffrey Hubbard, and their | 4 | | children, Frances and Wyatt Hubbard; and her sister, Charlotte | 5 | | Adelman, and brother-in-law, Bernard Schwartz; therefore, be | 6 | | it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 9 | | her family and friends, the passing of Lois Solomon; and be it | 10 | | further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of Lois Solomon as an expression of our | 13 | | sympathy.
