| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of
Roger J. Lehman of Bloomington, who | 4 | | passed away on August 10, 2011; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Roger Lehman was born on March 11, 1930, in | 6 | | Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania; he was the son of John and Marie | 7 | | Hally Lehman; he married Diane Milliken on November 28, 1957, | 8 | | in Syracuse, New York; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Roger Lehman graduated from Scranton Prep School | 10 | | in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and St. Bonaventure University in | 11 | | Olean, New York; he subsequently earned his law degree at | 12 | | Syracuse Law School in Syracuse, New York; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Roger Lehman retired from State Farm Insurance | 14 | | Companies as an executive vice president in 1995 after 38 years | 15 | | of dedicated service; he served on State Farm Insurance | 16 | | Companies boards until 2000; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Roger Lehman was a past member of the United Way | 18 | | board; he served as a police and fire commissioner; he was a | 19 | | past president of the Goal Line Club at the University of | 20 | | Minnesota and the Exchange Club; he was also a member of Holy | 21 | | Trinity Church in Bloomington and the Bloomington Country Club |

| 1 | | and was an avid golfer; and | 2 | | WHEREAS, Roger Lehman was preceded in death by his son, | 3 | | Patrick A. Lehman, and his grandson, Jack Lehman; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Roger Lehman is survived by his wife, Diane; his | 5 | | daughter, Kathleen M. Lehman; his sons, Michael (Janet) Lehman | 6 | | and Kevin R. (Jan) Lehman; his grandchildren, Hallie and Luke | 7 | | Lehman, and Patrick, Megan, and Leo Lehman; and his sister, | 8 | | Connie (David) Hurd; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 11 | | his family and friends, the passing of Roger J. Lehman; and be | 12 | | it further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Roger J. Lehman as an expression of | 15 | | our sympathy.
