| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of
United States Marine Corps Lance Corporal | 4 | | Nickolas Daniels of Elmwood Park, who passed away on November | 5 | | 5, 2011; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Nickolas Daniels graduated from | 7 | | St. Patrick High School in Chicago in 2004; he excelled in | 8 | | sports, especially football, where he played linebacker and | 9 | | made All-Conference his senior year; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, After high school, Lance Corporal Nickolas | 11 | | Daniels went to college for a semester, but found out it was | 12 | | not for him; he then worked several jobs in Elmwood Park and | 13 | | coached football at his high school alma mater, but decided to | 14 | | join the United States Marine Corps because he believed it | 15 | | would help him reach his goal of becoming a police officer; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Nickolas Daniels served his | 17 | | country with pride as a member of the 3rd Combat Engineer | 18 | | Battalion of the 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary | 19 | | Force out of Twentynine Palms, California; after graduating | 20 | | from basic training in January of 2010, he was sent on his | 21 | | first deployment as a combat engineer on September 4, 2011; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Nickolas Daniels is survived by his | 2 | | parents, Greg and Debi; his siblings, Kati, Billy, and Lonny | 3 | | Daniels; and his fiancee, Katie O'Neil; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Nickolas Daniels' patriotism and | 5 | | courage will be remembered fondly by his loving family, his | 6 | | fellow soldiers, and the citizens of our grateful nation; | 7 | | therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 10 | | his family and friends, the passing of United States Marine | 11 | | Corps Lance Corporal Nickolas Daniels; and be it further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Lance Corporal Nickolas Daniels as | 14 | | an expression of our sympathy.
