| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Leon A. Little of Bethalto, who passed | 4 | | away on February 5, 2012; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, He was born on July 7, 1931, in Jerseyville, the | 6 | | son of Levi and Salome (Middendorf) Little; he married Barbara | 7 | | A. (Schelle) on October 18, 1958, at St. Patrick's Catholic | 8 | | Church in Alton; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, He was a graduate of Jerseyville High School and | 10 | | served his country in the United States Navy; he was employed | 11 | | at Shell Oil Company for 25 years, retiring in 1991, and was a | 12 | | member of the local Carpenters Union No. 377; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace | 14 | | Catholic Church, the Wood River Moose Lodge No. 1349, and the | 15 | | Bethalto Knights of Columbus Council No. 4688, where he was a | 16 | | 3rd Degree Knight and a past Grand Knight; he enjoyed golfing, | 17 | | watching sports, going to all his grandchildren's sporting | 18 | | events with his wife, wood crafting, and being outside; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and his | 20 | | sisters, Opal Becker, Alice Devening, and Doris Madson; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Leon Little is survived by his wife, Barbara; his | 2 | | son, Phillip Little; his daughter and son-in-law, Shelley and | 3 | | Terry Eberlin; his grandchildren, Ryan, Kerri, Keenan, Autumn, | 4 | | and Tess; his former daughter-in-law, Jill (Pickering) Little; | 5 | | and his nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 8 | | his family and friends, the passing of Leon Little; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Leon Little as a symbol of our | 12 | | sincere sympathy.
