| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of
Myrtle H. Grant, who passed away on June | 4 | | 24, 2012; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant was born on February 8, 1921, in Wood | 6 | | River; she was the daughter of the late Joseph B. and Caroline | 7 | | (Neff) Friederich; she married Gaylen R. Grant on August 20, | 8 | | 1949, at St. Bernard's in Wood River; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Prior to having her children, Myrtle Grant was | 10 | | employed at her father's grocery store, "Friederich's", in Wood | 11 | | River; she also worked at Shell Oil and the First National Bank | 12 | | of Alton; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic | 14 | | Church for 60 years; she was also involved with the RCIA | 15 | | Program and the Arms of Love; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant enjoyed swimming, biking, the | 17 | | outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant was preceded in death by her parents; | 19 | | her husband, Gaylen; and her brother, Leo Friederich; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant is survived by her daughters, Carol | 2 | | (Michael) Redd and Linda (Chris) Potts; her sons, William | 3 | | (Mary) Grant, Richard (Holly) Grant, and Joseph (Fay) Grant; | 4 | | her 16 grandchildren; her 11 great-grandchildren; her | 5 | | brothers, Leonard (Lucille) Friederich, James (Patricia) | 6 | | Friederich, and Eugene (Carmelita) Friederich; and her many | 7 | | nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 10 | | her family and friends, the passing of Myrtle H. Grant; and be | 11 | | it further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Myrtle Grant as an expression of our | 14 | | sympathy.
