| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of
Barbara J. Ingram, who passed away on | 4 | | August 13, 2012; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Barbara Ingram was born on January 26th, 1936, in | 6 | | Chicago; she graduated from Dunbar High School in 1954, where | 7 | | she met her high school sweetheart, Daniel Ingram; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Barbara Ingram had a lifetime love of learning and | 9 | | traveling; she worked as a model and was employed at Johnson | 10 | | Publications in the 1950s; in the 1970s, she decided to return | 11 | | to school and started taking college courses at City Colleges | 12 | | of Chicago; during the 1980s and 1990s, she worked for the | 13 | | Chicago Archdiocese Head Start Program and various other social | 14 | | service agencies as an advocate for children from all walks of | 15 | | life; she also worked in the fashion and merchandising | 16 | | industries while operating her own boutique under the guidance | 17 | | and blessing of her dear sister, Dee Ingram Coleman; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Barbara Ingram loved to travel and visited | 19 | | Jamaica, Mexico, Amsterdam, Germany, France, and her beloved | 20 | | Bahamas, where she took an annual trip for 30 years; she also | 21 | | loved politics and met numerous elected officials, including | 22 | | former President Bill Clinton and then-Senator Barack Obama; |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Barbara Ingram is survived by her loving husband, | 3 | | Daniel Ingram; her children, Tracy Lynn, Carla Deniece, and | 4 | | Daniel Ingram Jr.; her nephew, Gerald Simmons, Jr.; her many | 5 | | other family and friends throughout the United States, | 6 | | including her honorary daughter, Illinois State Senator Toi | 7 | | Hutchinson; and the members of her beloved Flossmoor and | 8 | | Country Club Hills senior groups; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | 11 | | her family and friends, the passing of Barbara J. Ingram; and | 12 | | be it further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Barbara Ingram as an expression of | 15 | | our sympathy.
