| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply | 3 | | saddened to learn of the death of Richard R. "Dick" Bell of | 4 | | Wood River, who passed away on November 16, 2012; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Bell was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on | 6 | | November 23, 1926, to Marion Russell and Marguerite C. | 7 | | (Schmidt) Bell; he married Patricia A. Worcester in 1948; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Richard Bell served his country in the Navy; he | 9 | | graduated from the University of Illinois and became a partner | 10 | | in Worcester and Bell Construction Company; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Richard Bell belonged to the Wood River Rotary | 12 | | Club, where he was recognized as a "Paul Harris Fellow" and | 13 | | maintained perfect attendance for more than 40 years; he served | 14 | | the St. Louis Regional Airport as Commissioner; he was a member | 15 | | of the St. Louis Zoo, the Boy Scouts of America since 1987, the | 16 | | Wood River Library Board, the Wood River Chamber of Commerce; | 17 | | he served as a Wood River Heritage Council Contributor to the | 18 | | Historic Chapel, the Wood River Police and Fire Commissioner, | 19 | | and as a member of the boards of the First National Bank of | 20 | | Wood River, Magna Bank, and Regions Bank; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Richard Bell was preceded in death by his wife, |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Richard Bell is survived by his sister, Marjorie | 3 | | J. Bell Grufman; his brother, William F. Bell; his son, Paul | 4 | | Michael (Lisa) Bell; his daughter, Mary Bell; his | 5 | | grandchildren, Melissa Bell (Timothy Yates), Heather (Brock) | 6 | | Hendricks, and Corey (Melissa) Bell; his great-grandchildren, | 7 | | Dalton Pryor, Jaxon, Carter and Brody Hendricks, Jayden, Kamryn | 8 | | and Lawson Bell; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and | 9 | | nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Richard Bell, and we extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
