AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2009

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2009 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

"Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section 2310-665 as follows:

(20 ILCS 2310/2310-665 new)

Sec. 2310-665. Educational materials on streptococcal infection. The Department, in conjunction with the Illinois State Board of Education, shall develop educational material on streptococcal infection for distribution in elementary and secondary schools. The material shall include, but not be limited to:

(1) a process to notify parents or guardians of an outbreak in the school;

(2) a process to provide information on all of the symptoms of streptococcal to teachers, parents, and students; and

(3) guidelines for schools to control the spread of streptococcal infections.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.".
