2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Marcus |
4 | | Dion Gulley Sr. of Peoria, who passed away on May 25, 2013; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Marcus Gulley Sr. graduated from Peoria Christian |
6 | | School in 1989; he received his associate's degree in general |
7 | | education from Illinois Central College and was pursuing his |
8 | | bachelor's degree from Franklin University; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Marcus Gulley Sr. worked for Caterpillar Inc. as a |
10 | | manufacturer engineer II; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Marcus Gulley Sr. was a member of Star of Hope |
12 | | Church; he was well-known and respected in the youth sport and |
13 | | activity arena in Peoria including coaching junior football |
14 | | leagues, basketball, and baseball leagues; he was an active |
15 | | member of the Freelance Riders Motorcycle Club; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, Marcus Gulley Sr. was preceded in death by his |
17 | | biological father, Willie James Herron Sr.; his paternal and |
18 | | maternal grandparents; and his brother; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Marcus Gullery Sr. is survived by his parents, |
20 | | Leon and A. Margie Aldridge; his children, Marcus "DJ" Dion |

8 | | Myron Branch, Phillip Smith, Kelvin Patterson, Kevin King, |
9 | | Jason Herron, and Demetrius Herron; his sisters, Evergreen |
10 | | Dotson, Jittaun (Raymond) Woods, April James, Maria Shon (Mike) |
11 | | Stallings, and Sophia Kennedy; and a loving family of nephews, |
12 | | nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
14 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
15 | | we mourn the passing of Marcus Gullery Sr., and extend our |
16 | | sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew |
17 | | and loved him; and be it further

18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
19 | | presented to the family of Marcus Gullery Sr. as an expression |
20 | | of our deepest sympathy.
