| 1 | | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Louis A. Meissner | 4 | | on 50 years of service as a volunteer firefighter for the City | 5 | | of Breese, the Breese Fire Protection District, and the | 6 | | surrounding communities; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Louis A. Meissner joined the Breese Fire | 8 | | Department on March 25, 1963; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, For 50 years, 24 hours-a-day, 365 days-a-year, | 10 | | whenever the alarm sounded, Louis A. Messiner voluntarily left | 11 | | his home and family to go to the aid of his community, many | 12 | | times at personal risk to himself; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Louis A. Meissner was born on September 29, 1943; | 14 | | he married Joanne Meyer on May 4, 1965 and they have a son, | 15 | | Alan (Annette) Meissner and a grandson, Austin Meissner; he | 16 | | worked at Basler Electric in Highland for over 46 years, | 17 | | starting on July 31, 1962 and retiring on January 13, 2009; he | 18 | | joined the United States Army Reserve on March 11, 1964 and was | 19 | | ordered to active duty in June of 1968; he served in Vietnam | 20 | | from November of 1968 through November of 1969; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Fire protection service is one to be honored and |

| 1 | | those individuals who choose to protect their communities | 2 | | deserve recognition; therefore, be it
| 3 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 4 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 5 | | we congratulate Louis A. Meissner on 50 years of service as a | 6 | | volunteer fire fighter for the City of Breese, the Breese Fire | 7 | | Protection District, and the surrounding communities; and be it | 8 | | further
| 9 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 10 | | presented to Louis A. Meissner as an expression of our esteem | 11 | | and respect.
