| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Charles "Chuck" Anderson | 4 | | of Aurora on the occasion of his retirement from Painters | 5 | | District Council 30; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Chuck Anderson served as Business Manager and | 7 | | Secretary-Treasurer for Painters District Council 30 in Aurora | 8 | | from 1993 to September of 2014, earning the respect and | 9 | | admiration of the members and officers of his organization, the | 10 | | International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT), and | 11 | | the citizens of the City of Aurora and surrounding | 12 | | municipalities; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Chuck Anderson, as a member of the IUPAT for more | 14 | | than 4 decades, has served as a trustee and fiduciary of | 15 | | numerous employee benefits funds that strive to increase the | 16 | | value and dignity of work for members and their families; he | 17 | | also has served as a trustee of the IUPAT Finishing Trades | 18 | | Institute, the IUPAT Painters and Allied Trades for Children's | 19 | | Hope Foundation (PATCH Foundation), and as a member of the | 20 | | IUPAT General President's Advisory Committee; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Chuck Anderson is a well-regarded public servant | 22 | | in Illinois's Fox Valley region and the rest of the State; he |

| 1 | | has served as a member of the Aurora Human Relations | 2 | | Commission, the Aurora Economic
Advisory Committee, the | 3 | | Marmion Academy Board of Lay Trustees, the Quad County
Urban | 4 | | League Board of Directors, and the Illinois Attorney General's | 5 | | Labor Advisory Council; he also personally advocated for reform | 6 | | of Aurora's procurement processes to
increase opportunities | 7 | | for women and minority business owners and residents and was a
| 8 | | constant and vocal supporter of infrastructure investment in | 9 | | the city; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Chuck Anderson is known as a
leader committed to | 11 | | successful and productive labor-management relations, and the
| 12 | | advancement of one's industry through collaboration, | 13 | | conciliation, good faith negotiation,
bargaining, and | 14 | | sensitivity to shifting economic dynamics; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Upon Chuck Anderson's retirement as Business | 16 | | Manager and Secretary Treasurer on Labor Day, September 1,
| 17 | | 2014, he leaves to the next generation of leaders one of the | 18 | | most progressive, visible,
and active unions in the Fox Valley | 19 | | region, and a well-regarded labor organization within
| 20 | | North-Central Illinois; therefore, be it
| 21 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 22 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 23 | | we congratulate Charles "Chuck" Anderson on his retirement from |
