2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Daniel Edward "Blu" Bluthardt; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Daniel Bluthardt was born on April 16, 1965, in | ||||||
5 | Madison, Wisconsin, to Edward Earl Jr. and Diane Rose (Latoria) | ||||||
6 | Bluthardt; he was raised in Schiller Park; in 1983, he | ||||||
7 | graduated from East Leyden High School, where he played | ||||||
8 | football and enjoyed playing in a rock band; he graduated from | ||||||
9 | the University of Wisconsin in 1987, where he was a member of | ||||||
10 | Phi Gamma Delta; he married Carrie Larsen on May 13, 1995; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Daniel Bluthardt worked for many years in State | ||||||
12 | government and had been serving as a lobbyist the last few | ||||||
13 | years of his career; he worked for the Illinois Department of | ||||||
14 | Natural Resources from 1988 to 1991 and then served as policy | ||||||
15 | coordinator and analyst for the Illinois House Republican | ||||||
16 | Leaders's Office from 1991 to 1995; from 1999 until December | ||||||
17 | 2003 he worked as director of the Legislative Affairs Section | ||||||
18 | and then as assistant to the director for Marketing | ||||||
19 | Administration within the Department of Professional | ||||||
20 | Regulation; he was the deputy director for the Licensing & | ||||||
21 | Testing Division at the Department of Professional Regulation | ||||||
22 | from December 2003 to June 2004 and served as the director of | ||||||
23 | the Division of Professional Regulation for the Illinois |

1 | Department of Financial and Professional Regulation from July | ||||||
2 | 2004 to March 2010; from 1993 to 1995, he was vice-president | ||||||
3 | and co-owner of Stuff for Success Inc. in Franklin Park; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Daniel Bluthardt followed in the footprints of his | ||||||
5 | grandfather, former State Representative Edward E. Bluthardt | ||||||
6 | Sr. and entered politics; he served as precinct committeeman in | ||||||
7 | Leyden Township for many years and was president of the Leyden | ||||||
8 | Township Republican Organization for a number of years; he also | ||||||
9 | was elected precinct committeeman in Algonquin Township; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Daniel Bluthardt enjoyed boating, fishing, | ||||||
11 | following the Chicago Cubs, and having cocktails with friends; | ||||||
12 | he liked to take his family on trips to Eagle River, Wisconsin; | ||||||
13 | and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Daniel Bluthardt will be remembered by his family | ||||||
15 | and friends for his professionalism, his work ethic, his quick | ||||||
16 | wit, his humble demeanour, and the infectious smile that never | ||||||
17 | seemed to disappear; and | ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Daniel Bluthardt resided in Chatham, Illinois, | ||||||
19 | and is survived by his children Rocco and Amanda; his wife, | ||||||
20 | Carrie; his cousins, Chris and Todd Itrich; his brother, Brent; | ||||||
21 | and many lifelong friends; therefore, be it

1 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
3 | Daniel "Blu" Bluthardt, and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
4 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
5 | further
| ||||||
6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented the family of Daniel Bluthardt as an expression of | ||||||
8 | our deepest sympathy.
