| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Kenneth L. Latimer of Marengo, who passed | 4 | | away on August 12, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer was born on June 28, 1927 in Oak | 6 | | Park; his parents were John and Hazel (Hunter) Latimer; he | 7 | | married Carol "Joyce" Latimer on April 19, 1953 in Earlville; | 8 | | and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer served in the United States Navy | 10 | | during World War II; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer retired from Arnold Engineering | 12 | | after 30-plus years of service; prior to his service at Arnold | 13 | | Engineering, he served as a high school math teacher at Marengo | 14 | | High School; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer was an active member of ASTM | 16 | | International and an elder at Zion Lutheran Church; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer enjoyed woodworking, photography, | 18 | | and playing golf; he also enjoyed fixing things around the | 19 | | house, making his own apple cider and wine, reading, and | 20 | | crossword puzzles; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer was preceded in death by his wife, | 2 | | Joyce, and his parents; and | 3 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth Latimer is survived by his daughters, | 4 | | Melissa (John) Dudek, Janice (Pete) Tonyan, Nancy (Mike) Blair, | 5 | | Phyllis (Gerry) Cuomo, Suzanne Latimer, and Karen (Jeff) | 6 | | Hruska; his 12 grandchildren; his great-granddaughter; and his | 7 | | sister, Joan (Coleman) Kukuk; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 10 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Kenneth L. Latimer; | 11 | | and be it further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Kenneth Latimer as an expression of | 14 | | our sympathy.
