| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of James R. "Jim" Allee of Mattoon, who | 4 | | passed away on October 14, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, James Allee was born on March 20, 1937 in Benton | 6 | | to James B. and Helen L. (nee Williams) Allee; he graduated | 7 | | from Western Military Academy in Alton and attended Centre | 8 | | College in Danville, Kentucky; he married Patty L. Winfield on | 9 | | May 8, 1960 in Mattoon; he served in the United States Army | 10 | | Reserve; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, James Allee took over Allee Lumber Company in | 12 | | Mattoon in 1967 as the 3rd generation owner; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, James Allee was a 20-year member of the Mattoon | 14 | | Police and Fire Board, a member of the Lake Land College | 15 | | Foundation Board of Directors, serving as the first | 16 | | Vice-President and then as President, and a member and former | 17 | | board member of the Mattoon Chamber of Commerce; he was a | 18 | | recipient of the Lake Land College Distinguished Service Award, | 19 | | a member of the Eastern Illinois University Panther Club, and a | 20 | | sponsor of Little League football and baseball in Mattoon and | 21 | | Young Men's Christian Association soccer in Springfield; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, James Allee was preceded in death by his parents | 2 | | and his brother, Tim Allee; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, James Allee is survived by his wife, Patty; his | 4 | | children, Jeff (Kelly) Allee, Angie (Tony) Collings, Aimee | 5 | | (Keith) Chambers, and Tim (Rhonda) Allee; his brother, John | 6 | | Allee; his grandchildren, Andrew Collings, Laura Collings, | 7 | | Joey Allee, Addi Allee, Alaina Allee, and Sydney Allee; and his | 8 | | step-grandson, Lucas Grzelak; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | James R. "Jim" Allee, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
