| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Wanda G. Palmer of Johnsburg, who passed | 4 | | away on October 9, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Wanda Palmer was born on August 15, 1922 in | 6 | | Grayslake to Jeppe and Arenta (nee Christensen) Jespen; she was | 7 | | raised in the Johnsburg area and enjoyed singing and yodelling | 8 | | as a child and was heard on WLS Radio in the 1930s; she married | 9 | | Harvey V. Palmer on November 14, 1943 at the Ivanhoe Church in | 10 | | Mundelein; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Wanda Palmer and her husband opened Palmer's Four | 12 | | Seasons Gift Shop in Johnsburg in 1973; the store remained a | 13 | | family operation until its closing when they were age 87; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Wanda Palmer was an avid Chicago Cubs fan; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Wanda Palmer was preceded in death by her husband, | 16 | | Harvey; her parents; her brother, Nils "Bud"; and her sisters, | 17 | | Betty, Marie, and Lola; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Wanda Palmer is survived by her children, Sandra | 19 | | (Richard) Kollenkark, Linda (Dennis) Peterson, and Rocky | 20 | | (Donna) Palmer; her grandchildren, Tami (John) Pawlik, Wayne |
