| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Dolores M. "Grandma Doe" McMillan of | 4 | | Williamsville, who passed away on November 2, 2013; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dolores McMillan was born in Auburn on May 27, | 6 | | 1923 to Stanley and Matilda (nee Maggs) Patrilla; she attended | 7 | | Auburn schools and moved to Springfield after graduation; she | 8 | | married Charles "Bub" McMillan on November 12, 1943 in Auburn; | 9 | | and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Dolores McMillan first worked as a bookkeeper for | 11 | | Aunt Hannah's Baby Shop; she and her husband began farming in | 12 | | Divernon before settling in Williamsville in 1959; she also | 13 | | worked as a teller at Elkhart Bank for many years; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Dolores McMillan was an active member of the | 15 | | Williamsville United Methodist Church; she was an avid Scrabble | 16 | | player and enjoyed ceramics and acrylics; she liked tending to | 17 | | her flower-laden garden, baking chocolate chip cookies, and | 18 | | being the seamstress for her grandchildren's Halloween | 19 | | costumes; she was a member of 2 card clubs and played pinochle | 20 | | for many years; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Dolores McMillan was preceded in death by her |

| 1 | | husband of 47 years, Charles; her daughter, Linda (Tom) Lysen; | 2 | | her parents; and her sister, Isabelle (John) Mason; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Dolores McMillan is survived by her children, | 4 | | Sharon (Patsy Cowsert) McMillan, Donald "Chuck" (Sue) | 5 | | McMillan, and Carol (Harvey) Garecht; her grandchildren, Sarah | 6 | | McMillan, Nicole (Richard) Sandidge, and Megan, Charles, and | 7 | | Holly Garecht; her great-grandchildren, Lexi Reid, Chloe and | 8 | | Madi Sandidge, and Sebastian "SJ" Casson; her brother, Stanley | 9 | | "Mannie" (Barbara) Patrilla; her sister-in-law, Joan McMillan; | 10 | | her brother-in-law, John (Bonnie) McMillan; and many nieces, | 11 | | nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | Dolores M. "Grandma Doe" McMillan, and extend our sincere | 15 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 16 | | her; and be it further
| 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 18 | | presented to the family of Dolores McMillan as an expression of | 19 | | our deepest sympathy.
