| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Robert L. Hoard of Peoria, who passed | 4 | | away on January 17, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Hoard was born on June 14, 1922 in | 6 | | Thomasville; his parents were Edward and Josephine (nee Smock) | 7 | | Hoard; he married Aldona L. Sterbis on May 14, 1944; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Robert Hoard served his country as a member of the | 9 | | United States Army Air Forces during World War II; following | 10 | | his discharge, he moved to Peoria; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Robert Hoard and his wife owned and operated | 12 | | Palace Cleaners and Shine Parlor and Spring Street Cleaners for | 13 | | 20 years; he worked as a supervisor with the Secretary of State | 14 | | Driver's License Department for several years and the Illinois | 15 | | Department of Transportation for 23 years; he also owned and | 16 | | remodeled rental houses for many years; and | 17 | | WHEREAS, Robert Hoard was a past president of the Sertoma | 18 | | Club and a 6-decade member of AMVETS Post 64, where he was a | 19 | | past commander and board president; he was also a member of | 20 | | Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria for many years; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Robert Hoard was preceded in death by his parents; | 2 | | his sister, Josephine Hemberger; and his brother, Chet Hoard; | 3 | | and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Robert Hoard is survived by his wife, Aldona; his | 5 | | son, Gregory (Nancy) Hoard; his granddaughters, Rachel and | 6 | | Faith; his sisters, Margaret Dorsey, Lorretta Cloyed, Erma | 7 | | Fedor, Lou Cummings, and Marian Marsalgia; his brother, Raymond | 8 | | Hoard; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 11 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert L. Hoard; and | 12 | | be it further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Robert Hoard as an expression of our | 15 | | sympathy.
