| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Louis F. Horwath of Wonder Lake, who | 4 | | passed away on January 11, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Louis Horwath was born on August 21, 1917 in | 6 | | Chicago; his parents were Michael and Therese (nee Prangle) | 7 | | Horwath; he married Bernice M. Meyer on March 22, 1958 at Grace | 8 | | Lutheran Church in Chicago; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Louis Horwath served his country as a member of | 10 | | the United States Army during World War II; he was awarded 4 | 11 | | Bronze Stars for his service during the Normandy invasion on | 12 | | D-Day and in subsequent campaigns; he was also in the Belgian | 13 | | town of Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Louis Horwath enjoyed a 33-year career at the | 15 | | Sunbeam Corporation, where he worked in Quality Control; in | 16 | | 1980, he and his wife moved to Wonder Lake, where they enjoyed | 17 | | their retirement years; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Louis Horwath enjoyed working with stained glass | 19 | | and made several treasured gifts for his family; he also | 20 | | enjoyed golf, traveling with his wife throughout the world, and | 21 | | spending time with his family; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Louis Horwath was a faithful member of the Wonder | 2 | | Lake Bible Church in Wonder Lake; and | 3 | | WHEREAS, Louis Horwath was preceded in death by his | 4 | | brothers, Michael, John, and Joseph Horwath, and his sisters, | 5 | | Anna Horwath and Helen (the late Eugene) Aichele; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Louis Horwath is survived by his wife, Bernice; | 7 | | his brother, Edward (the late Vickie) Horwath; and his many | 8 | | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 11 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Louis F. Horwath; and | 12 | | be it further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Louis Horwath as an expression of | 15 | | our sympathy.
