| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of John Kreamcheck of McHenry, who passed | 4 | | away on January 28, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, John Kreamcheck was born on January 7, 1926 in | 6 | | Vestaburg, Pennsylvania; his parents were Joseph and Mary (nee | 7 | | Lemonski) Kreamcheck; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, John Kreamcheck served his country as a member of | 9 | | the United States Marine Corps for 5 years and was a veteran of | 10 | | World War II; after his service, he attended the College of | 11 | | William and Mary, where he played football and won All-Southern | 12 | | Honors; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, After college, John Kreamcheck was drafted by the | 14 | | Chicago Bears, where he played under George Halas from 1953 to | 15 | | 1955 and was regarded as one of the toughest defensive linemen | 16 | | of his time; after his football career, he served as a Chicago | 17 | | policeman until his retirement in 1984; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, During his retirement years, John Kreamcheck | 19 | | enjoyed golfing, gardening, watching the stock market, and | 20 | | spending time at the bowling alley, where he enjoyed having a | 21 | | good debate among good friends; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, John Kreamcheck was preceded in death by his wife, | 2 | | Dorothy; his parents; his brothers, Alec, Stanley, Peter, | 3 | | Walter "Buggs", and Edward "Midge" Kreamcheck; and his sisters, | 4 | | Frances (Fritz) Santo, Estelle Kennedy, and Margaret Prescott; | 5 | | and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, John Kreamcheck is survived by his sister-in-law, | 7 | | Ann (the late Edward "Midge") Kreamcheck, and his many nieces | 8 | | and nephews; therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 11 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of John Kreamcheck; and | 12 | | be it further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of John Kreamcheck as an expression of | 15 | | our sympathy.
