| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Harold E. Lipofsky, who passed away on | 4 | | February 28, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Harold Lipofsky was the son of Samuel and Bessie | 6 | | Lipofsky who founded Lipofsky's Department Store in Barrington | 7 | | in 1896; he served his country during World War II, stationed | 8 | | in Italy; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Harold Lipofsky continued to run the department | 10 | | store with his brother, Henry, and over the years, his sister, | 11 | | Irene, and his brothers, Franklin and Bernard; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Harold Lipofsky was a past-Commander of | 13 | | Barrington Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post 7706, past District | 14 | | 6440 Governor of Rotary International, and founding and | 15 | | longest-serving member of the Barrington Rotary Club; he was a | 16 | | Trustee of the Village of Barrington and past-President of the | 17 | | Barrington Chamber of Commerce; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Harold Lipofsky was the recipient of the | 19 | | Barrington High School Distinguished Alumni Award, a Trustee of | 20 | | the Wilmering Scout Cabin, and an active supporter of the Boy | 21 | | Scouts and Girl Scouts in Barrington; he led the Barrington |

| 1 | | March of Dimes campaign for many years; and | 2 | | WHEREAS, Harold Lipofsky was preceded in death by his | 3 | | parents; his sister, Irene (Sidney) Kramer; and his brothers, | 4 | | Henry (Mildred), Franklin (Lilian), and Bernard (Zelda) | 5 | | Lipofsky; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Harold Lipofsky was the uncle of Beverly, Barbara | 7 | | (Richard), Susan (Eddie), Marvin, Louis (Marion), Barton | 8 | | (Judy), Joseph (Pam), and Philip (Judy); the great-uncle of | 9 | | Lisa, Ariel, Dan, Steffen, and Sandra; the great-great-uncle to | 10 | | many; and the devoted friend of Kazimierz (Casey) Chmielewski; | 11 | | therefore, be it
