| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Bernice M. Lafontaine, who passed away on | 4 | | May 19, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bernice Lafontaine was born on June 29, 1927 in | 6 | | Johnsburg; her parents were George and Emma (nee Miller) King; | 7 | | she married Eugene Lafontaine on June 14, 1947; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Bernice Lafontaine was employed at the Jewel | 9 | | grocery store in McHenry for 20 years; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Bernice Lafontaine was a member of St. Patrick's | 11 | | Church for 66 years; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Bernice Lafontaine was well known as the "Cookie | 13 | | Lady" due to her love of baking cookies for all occasions; she | 14 | | also enjoyed visits with her grandchildren and | 15 | | great-grandchildren in participating in card clubs with her | 16 | | friends in McHenry and Zephyrhills, Florida; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Bernice Lafontaine was preceded in death by her | 18 | | husband, Eugene, and her brother, George "Jim" King, Jr.; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Bernice Lafontaine is survived by 3 children, |
