| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Joanne Edith Oliver of Lake in the Hills, | 4 | | who passed away on June 22, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Joanne Oliver was born on September 2, 1932 in | 6 | | Chicago; her parents were Homer and Dorothy (nee Johnsen) | 7 | | Barnes; she married John H. Oliver in February of 1954 in | 8 | | Barrington; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Joanne Oliver received her master's degree in | 10 | | education and had earned 36 hours toward her doctorate; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Joanne Oliver was employed with Crystal Lake | 12 | | School District 47 for 35 years at West Elementary School, | 13 | | where she taught kindergarten; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Joanne Oliver loved riding horses and working as a | 15 | | professional dog handler; she volunteered her time as an active | 16 | | member in the St. Mary's Altar Guild and was a member of the | 17 | | Retired Teachers Association; she also worked for the local | 18 | | food pantry and Pads and gave her time helping non-driving | 19 | | senior citizens; and | 20 | | WHEREAS, Joanne Oliver was preceded in death by her |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Joanne Oliver is survived by her loving husband, | 3 | | John; 3 children, Katherine L. Oliver, James M. Oliver, and | 4 | | John M. Oliver; 4 grandchildren, Nicole Swanson, Nathan Oliver, | 5 | | Brittany Oliver, and Austin Oliver; a great-grandson, Axel | 6 | | Swanson; and a brother, Cdr. William M. Barnes; therefore, be | 7 | | it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her | 10 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Joanne Edith Oliver; | 11 | | and be it further
