| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Raymond E. Powers of Gurnee, who passed | 4 | | away on June 10, 2014; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Powers was born on December 20, 1934 in | 6 | | Waukegan, and lived there until 2004 when he moved to Gurnee; | 7 | | and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Powers retired from the Komatsu-Dresser | 9 | | Corporation after 38 years of service; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Powers was an avid card player, loved the | 11 | | outdoors at his cottage in Wisconsin, and avoided the cold | 12 | | weather in Illinois by spending winters in Florida; he was a | 13 | | member and former President of the North Chicago Lions Club, | 14 | | and played in Shea's Drum and Bugle Corps; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Powers was preceded in death by his son, | 16 | | Donald; parents, James and Elise; sisters, Virginia Ojala and | 17 | | Fern Christensen; and one brother, James; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Powers is survived by his wife of 61 | 19 | | years, Ann (nee Unrein) Powers; children, Leslie (Cecellia) | 20 | | Powers, Patricia (Guy) Lolmaugh, Ronald (Cynthia) Powers, and |

| 4 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | 5 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 6 | | Raymond E. Powers, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 7 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 8 | | further
| 9 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 10 | | presented to the family of Raymond Powers as an expression of | 11 | | our deepest sympathy.
